A Srprs.me trip to…?

I have always wanted to book a trip to destination unknown and in September I finally decided to go for it. Together with two friends, I booked a 5-day citytrip to a destination in Europe with Srprs.me. Want to know where I went and how I experienced this trip? Keep on reading!

When booking, we had a few different decisions to make. We could choose between a shared accommodation or a private room and we could exclude some destinations. We decided to choose a shared accommodation since it is cheaper and excluded Barcelona, Graz and Madrid since we had already been here. In total we paid 525 euros for three people, including flights and accommodation! Before finding out where you are going, Srprs.me gives you a few tips. We got to know the time of our flight, the airport we had to be at and the weather of the destination. I decided not to look at the different flights of the airport on that time because I wanted to be surprised! We revealed the destination at the airport of Charleroi and we found out that we were going to… WARSAW! I had never been to Poland so I was very excited to discover a new country. They gave us all the information of the flight and the boarding passes, so all we had to do was find our gate and get on the plane.

After arriving in Warsaw (Modlin Airport), we found out what hostel we were gonna be staying in. Warsaw Hostel Centrum is a 4-star hostel situated between the new and the old town of Warsaw. It was a bus and train ride away from Modlin Airport. We got an eight-persons room so we had to share it with five other people, which was fine!

On the first day we decided to head to the Old Town. You can honestly fill a whole day with discovering this part of Warsaw. If you are curious about where to go for some good food or drinks, you can read my blogpost on the best foodspots in Warsaw! I was not expecting such great food in this city but I was happily surprised!

The second day was filled with a visit to Park Skaryszewski and the Neon Museum. A visit to this park was not planned but we kind of got held up here because of all the cute squirrels. And they are not shy at all! We would just give them some nuts and they just ate it out of our hands. After finally getting away from all the squirrels, we continued our journey to the Neon Museum. This museum is dedicated to the documentation and preservation of cold war era neon signs. It’s not that big but I thought it was very cool to see! A student ticket only cost me 13 PLN (about 2,75 euros). A regular ticket will cost you 16 PLN, which is still cheap.

After grabbing some coffee on our last full day, we visited Polin, a museum of the history of Polish Jews. It is filled with history of Polish Jews from the Middle Ages until today. The museum is very big and you can definitely spend a few hours here. A ticket for a student was 20 PLN (about 4 euros) and a regular ticket will cost you 30 PLN (about 6 euros). A big plus for Poland is how cheap everything is! We got breakfast, lunch and dinner almost EVERYDAY for such low prices.

Conclusion of this trip? It was definitely a success for me! I loved the Old Town of Warsaw and all the history it had to offer. The food was so good (I love pierogies) and the people were really friendly. I recommend trying a trip with Sprs.me! Sometimes it’s nice not to plan everything yourself.

I’ve never been to Warsaw or Poland for that matter but I have to say that it looks like an amazing place to explore and photograph. I’ve also heard Poland is a great budget destination too. Thanks for sharing and have a good day ☺️ Aiva
